PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is treating people with pain and disability using physical means, such as exercise, mobilizations, electric currents, etc...

The initial session of physiotherapy involves assessing a person to find out the problem.

Once the physiotherapist has figured out what the problem is, then the appropriate treatment is administered.

Michelle D Karis has had extensive training in techniques to get the joints moving freely. These techniques are called mobilizations and manipulations. These are especially helpful for joint pain (neck, back, shoulders, knees, hips, etc.)

She has also been trained in the effective use of exercise and postural corrections.

Michelle is committed to staying up to date with new treatment techniques and regularly furthers her training by taking courses.

She has also taken local classes in Pilates, Qi Gong, Tai Qi , stability ball, yoga and others to find out first hand what they entail so she can answer her patients’ questions.
